Getting there: Auroville is about 10 kms north of Pondicherry, which is very well connected by the East-Coast Rd (ECR) to the bigger cities such as Chennai (3 hrs by car/taxi/bus), Bangalore (8 hrs by car/taxi/bus) and Hyderabad. The airport in Pondicherry is currently shut down, but closest airports to get to AV would be via Chennai and Bangalore which have regular and frequent flights connecting them to a number a of domestic/international cities.
There are a number of Aurovillian and local taxi services available to get around, but the preferred mode of transport are.. two-wheeler which can be rented almost anywhere in AV and in Pondy for anything between Rs 100-200/day.

Most guest houses are quite close to the starting point of the event. It is quite difficult to get places in these guest houses as the marathon is held during the guest season of Auroville. Please book early. Organisers will NOT be able to offer any assistance in this regard.
Outside Auroville
There are plenty of options available for stay in Pondicherry. Organisers will arrange for bus transportation on select routes. The following hotels will be definitely covered in the route.
